🇺🇸 This was the day on which I met T for the first time. T went to the same college (university; undergraduate) with Omak. Both studied filmmaking. Now they’re both into musicmaking. Also they’re futsal buddies.

🇰🇷 T형을 처음 만난 날. T형은 오막과 대학(학부)를 같이 다녔다. 둘 다 영화를 공부했고 이제는 둘 다 음악을 만든다. 그리고 둘은 풋살 친구다.

🇺🇸 Tap gol sun dae guk. Hehehe.

• “Sundae” has nothing to do with ice cream; it is sort of like blood sausage.
• “Guk” means soup. Most food (all food?) that ends with “guk” is soup. Useful for when you’re ordering food in Korea.
• “Tap gol” is the actual name of the restsaurant.

This place was excellent. Usually, I can’t eat the non-meat, non-sundae stuff in a sundaeguk. But here, I was able to eat the weird parts of the animal LOL.

The only challenge was that I was so full, I could not eat everything. Oh, and before getting full, I was so hungry, I didn’t take any pictures…!

🇰🇷 완전 맛있었던 탑골순대국. 원래 안 먹던 부위들도 와구와구 먹어버림. 유일한 챌린지는 너무 배가 불러서 전부 먹진 못했다는 것이었고, 배가 부르기 전에는 너무 배가 고팠어서 사진을 찍지않았다는 것이다…!

🇺🇸 Every time I visit Seoul, the throne of Trendiest Alcoholic Beverage has a new owner. This time, this soju with the nine-tailed fox seems to be “in.”

But as a person who tried blind-tasting different soju brands at home, who, then, found out that she has ZERO actual ability to taste the difference in various brands, I’m just… I just… I just drink whatever is available.

This, by the way, was the first time I drank something alcoholic in Seoul. Also, it was daytime drinking. Hehehe. I think as we get older, more of us are driving + we don’t drink as much anymore. So it kinda doesn’t matter what time of the day we drink. On this day, too, Omak was driving. T and I didn’t finish the bottle.

🇰🇷 한국을 방문할 때마다 가장 핫한 알코올 왕좌의 주인이 바뀌는데, 이번에는 저 구미호 소주가 인기인 듯?

하지만 집에서 각종 소주 브랜드를 블라인드 테이스팅 해본 결과, 각 브랜드를 구분할 수 있는 미각이 전혀 완전히 아예 없다는 것을 깨달은 나로서는, 그냥 아무거나 있는 거 마신다.

참고로 이것이 서울에 와서 처음으로 술을 마신 때였다. 게다가 낮술이었다. 히히히. 우리가 나이가 들면서 운전하는 사람들이 더 많아지고, 술의 양도 줄어드는 것 같다. 그래서 하루 중 언제 술을 마시든 별로 상관이 없다. 이날도 오막은 운전을 했고 T형이랑 나는 술 한 병을 다 비우지 않았다.

🇺🇸 The above is a message I got on my phone—a missing person. It’s kinda cool that I receive these messages by default, just by enabling roaming.
