πΊπΈ Han River duck boats hehe. Cute little things. But Iβve never seen anybody actually ride these things.

πΊπΈ The reason I went to Han River on this day was that I wanted to visit the J-bug. (https://hangang.seoul.go.kr/www/contents/798.do?mid=518 - not available in English, I thinkβ¦) It was my favorite place to get some work done when I was in Seoul 4.5 years ago. It turns out, theyβre under construction. However, theyβll re-open before I leave. So, Iβm very excited. π

πΊπΈ Clean dystopian vibe. Like that one picture I took of a foresty facility thingy near Seattle, this here, too, has that βday after the end of the worldβ vibe. Most of humanity is gone but nothingβs totally broken yet.

πΊπΈ Do you understand this sign? For me, if I didnβt speak Korean, I wouldnβt know what it meant except that it says βSTOP! Donβt do it!β
But what is βitβ?
Well. The sign says, Donβt walk into the water, you might drown. Knowing that, the image on the sign makes more sense.
Overall, on this trip, Iβm realizing how there ARENβT English signs available. And that would be FINE, only, the Korean government wants toursits, doesnβt it? So much that it put that K-ETA thing on hold. So then, maybe itβs a good idea to tell tourists to not walk into the water, so they donβt drown. Because, if the few tourists who do visit the countryend up drowning, thatβs bad press.
That said, Seoul has many more signs than most American anywhere Iβve been to. Some American places, there should be signs and there is nothing. English, Spanish, nothing.
Anyway. But when there are signs in a country that supposedly wants tourists, having English translations seems like such low hanging fruit.
Thank gods for smartphone technology. Samsung and Apple shall save the world with their picture-taking & auto-translation features.
